Athletes sign to colleges

Seven athletes have made the decision to further their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. They are seniors Victor Ortiz, Parker Zimerofsky, Josh Hamilton, Patrick Ryan, Samantha Day, Justice Minor and Bryce Dragna.

 

Victor Ortiz

Ortiz will be attending Waynesburg University to play soccer and run track. He will be majoring in Biology.

Why did you choose the college you will be attending?

“I talked to the educational staff and coaches, and I got very interested in the school.”

What are you most excited for when thinking about being a college athlete?

“I am excited to be able to make a name for myself and helping make my school athletes better.”

 

Parker Zimerofsky

Zimerofsky will be attending Kutztown University to play football as an offensive guard. He will be major in accounting.

Why did you choose the college you will be attending?

“I knew that it was the place for me as soon as I stepped on campus. Also, the coaching staff was great when they invited me.”

What are you most excited for when thinking about being a college athlete?

“I am looking forward to having minimum debt leaving college and making great friends along the way.”

 

 

 

Josh Hamilton

Hamilton plans on attending Wilkes University to play football as a center. He plans on majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Why did you choose the college you will be attending?

“I liked the football program and coaching staff. Also, their engineering program is great.”

What are you most excited for when thinking about being a college athlete?

“I am most excited about meeting new people and making friends. I also get to continue my football career.”

 

Patrick Ryan

Ryan plans on attending Penn State University at Schuylkill campus to play baseball as an infielder and outfielder. He plans on majoring in Criminal Justice.

Why did you choose the college you will be attending?

“It is close to home and I will be attending for only two years. My plan after is to apply to the State Police Academy.”

What are you most excited for when thinking about being a college athlete?

“I’m most excited to be able to further both my academic and athletic careers. It will be great meeting new people and to compete at a higher level.”

 

Samantha Day

Day will be attending Penn State University and Harrisburg campus to play soccer. She is currently undecided on a major but will most likely switch to Business.

Why did you choose the college you will be attending?

“It is a good distance from home. It also has a good soccer program and education.”

What are you most excited for when thinking about being a college athlete?

“I am excited to meet new people, travel and play the game I love for four more years.”

 

Justice Minor

Minor will be attending Kutztown University to play football as a running back. He will be majoring in Criminal Justice.

Why did you choose the college you will be attending?

“It’s a really nice environment to be around.”

What are you most excited for when thinking about being a college athlete?

“It is going to be a great experience and chance to make a name for myself.”

 

Bryce Dragna

Dragna will be attending King’s College to play football as a linebacker. He will be Majoring in Criminal Justice.

Why did you choose the college you will be attending?

“It had the best Criminal Justice program out of all the schools I was interested in. they also have great athletic facilities. I got along with the coaches best at King’s, and I just felt more comfortable.”

What are you most excited for when thinking about being a college athlete?

“I’m most excited for the grind. I love being busy and working hard for something I’m very passionate about.”
