Students pass time with Netflix
With students getting back in the swing of things from Thanksgiving break, what would be a better way to get accustomed to school than watching your favorite movies and shows while you have some downtime? Most students binge watch movies and shows on one of the most popular streaming services in America, Netflix.
Netflix is an American subscription based streaming service that allows its users to watch TV shows and movies without commercials.
With this platform you can watch exclusive and blockbuster shows like, Bridgerton, Stranger Things and newer shows like: Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.
Many students enjoy the plethora of content Netflix has to offer in shows that range from all types of genres.
“My favorite show is The Hollow.” Sophia Noon, sophomore, said. “It is a cartoon about three kids that wake up in the white room with no memory, not even their name. They have to figure out why they’re there and how to get out. It is a very unique story with a lot of diverse characters and I love the animation style! I would definitely recommend giving it a watch.”
“Centaur World is my favorite Netflix show because firstly I love the art style. Senior Felix Blasser said, “I love the art style even though some characters are ugly, I love how round and bouncy the style is.”
Blasser adds, “ There is really good queer and POC representation. One of the main characters, Zulius is a Zebra Centaur is a black and gay character in the show.”
Many enjoy Netflix because of its affordable streaming service and having commercial-free entertainment.
Tia Neufville, freshman, said,“ My favorite Netflix show is Outer Banks and people choose to watch movies on Netflix rather than any other platform because they show no ads and it’s fairly cheap.”
Senior Morrighain Nyer agreed and she said, “My favorite Netflix show is Arcane and I think people prefer Netflix because there are a wide variety of genres and there are no ads or commercials.”
