The hare, a rabbit, is known to be productive reproducers. An ancient symbol of fertility and new life. This caused the idea of connecting it with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As so many holidays get mixed up in modern day views it’s easy to not know the history of a holiday.

Easter falls on the second day Sunday of April. Where Christians believe in Jesus Christ’s resurrection after three days of being crucified by the Romans.

The Sunday before Easter is Palm Sunday. It’s a Christian feast, celebrating Jesus’ victorious entry into Jerusalem. Waving palm branches for his steed to ride across and spreading them on the ground. This is a reminder of welcoming Jesus in their hearts.

Mr. Charles Taronis celebrates Easter by attending church services throughout the weekend. He also has a family meal on Sunday.

So how did the resurrection of Jesus get tied in with the Easter bunny’s pleasant distribution of goods?

Decorating eggs goes back to the 13th century. Even further back as the ancient Persians, painted eggs for the Persian New Year. The eggs are a symbol of fertility. This also symbolizes the emergence of Jesus through the tomb. There are different things that connect to the holiday.

Many people think that Easter is about a bunny invading your house leaving sweets and colored eggs. This was brought by German immigrants stories of an egg-laying hare.

The significance of Easter is different for many people. Mr. Taronis says “It’s about redemption, rebirth”
