This holiday affects lots of the indigenous and mixed ancestry of Mexicans. Senior Dominique Perez thought the significance of the Battle of Puebla was the “biggest battle fought and the turning point for independence.” The holiday is meaningful to her as its heritage day for her family.

The gathering Junior Samantha Woodford said “We painted rocks, drank coffee and mostly talked. So many more people showed than I would have thought. I’m very glad we planned the event.”

If you get into District Band, you have the opportunity to go to Regional Band if you audition and qualify. Band Director Mrs. Katelynn Reichard said,“I’m really excited for them.” It was really hard for them to get in; there were 30 people competing and they both practiced endlessly and their hard work shows.
