Mrs. Pellish, pictured above is filling out the order form for the chocolate roses fundraiser. Selling the chocolate roses is the biggest fundraiser for AID. “In the past, AID sold carnations and Valentine notes for Valentine’s Day. We’re doing something a little different this year. Instead of selling carnations, we’re selling chocolate roses.” said teacher Mrs. Pellish.

AID is hosting a fundraiser by selling chocolate roses for all students and faculty to purchase. Each rose is $2.00 and can be bought from any member of AID. Order sheets and money must be handed in for the fundraiser onFriday,  January 28. The chocolate roses will be delivered to the recipients during homeroom on Monday, February 14th; Valentines Day. Mrs. Pellish is the advisor for AID.

Mrs. Pellish says, “We raise money for different groups or individuals every year, based on need. The club will vote at our next meeting on who will receive the money we raise.”

AID decided to change the fundraiser this year. The treasurer of AID, Grace Lascala loves the tradition of this fundraiser. “I think the roses are one of the best traditions that AID does. It is always fun to deliver them that morning and see who got you roses.”

Mrs. Pellish explains why selling and receiving chocolate roses for your friends is important. “Selling these chocolate roses and Valentine notes spreads positivity in the school. Everyone has had a difficult time with all of the changes in the last two years, and it’s important that people do what they can to make each other happy and to share some kindness.”
