Geri Jordan and Tabitha Rauch’s painting on display for the community of Pottsville to see. “I really wanted to learn how to do features, and test my ability to illustrate other people besides myself. I chose to paint someone else because he has such a unique face and I wanted to test if I could match it.” senior Tabitha Rauch said.

PAHS hosts an annual art show every year to showcase their artists from classes like Painting 1 to Intro to Art to Ceramics. The displays of art are endless and come in very many creative forms. Students have the choice on whether they want their work to be in the art show or not. Everyone was hard at work to make sure their art looked good.

The art show showcases so many different perspectives of the students at PAHS. Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. Greenwalt gave out prizes and rewards for the students they think really displayed hard work, talent, and creativity. The PAHS art show also had live music with the jazz band playing, the JSC Chinese Auction, and food.

“I enjoy the art show every year because I’ve been taking art classes since my freshman year. It gives people the opportunity to see my art. If I can inspire someone or give someone an idea that will always make me happy,” junior Elizabeth Ortiz said.

The art show took place on May 18 from 6-9. After the show was over, the students all pitched in to help take all of the art down for Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. Greenwalt to give back to their students. Until next year for new artists and creativity to be featured.
