Junior Emilee Rose stands proud while holding her new award from the media and design logo competition. Emilee won the regional competition this year and now advances to states. She said, “I found an interest in doing the competition because my brother Parker also did it.”

Every year the Pennsylvania Media and Design logo competition is held for many different schools in Pennsylvania. Any school who wants to participate in the competition is welcome to do so. This year’s regional winner of the logo design was Emilee Rose.

Junior Emilee Rose has been doing the media design competition for several years now. She found an interest in creating logos and in the competition itself from her brother, Parker Rose, who also participated in the event.

Emilee has been victorious with her efforts in the competition over the past few years winning in 8th grade, 9th grade, and now 11th grade.

Because of COVID-19 and the rules put into place, this year’s competition was done digitally. Rose was required to submit the project over a website and from there the judges would look at the logo she created.

She said, “This year I used the same concept as what I planned to do in 10th grade. I changed a few things and had a new logo.”

Emilee adds that she plans to take advice from the judges and make changes when needed.

“Before states, I plan to take the judges critiques and adjust things to my project based on the judges’ comments,” she said.

The ceremony for the state qualifiers will be held on May 27, 2021 at Dickinson college.
