Music Review: Billboard Hot 100 Top 10

1. Righteous- Juice WRLD

This song starts with a beautiful guitar line that stays pretty consistent throughout the song, then Juice WRLD’s voice comes in with a tone that is very different from most of his other songs. Then at about 0:26 in the song, the hi-hat beat comes in and his voice goes to a tone more familiar to his other songs, (also pretty consistent throughout the song.) At about 2:03 in the song, the beat and the voice is a little bit slower until about 2:30 then it goes back into the chorus, and then the song ends. I give this song an A+.

2. Flex- Polo G Ft. Juice WRLD

In the beginning, it starts off with a guitar line the stays consistent throughout this song (you can slightly hear the squeaking of their fingers moving across the strings). Then at about 0:11 in the song, Polo G’s voice starts with the main chorus that repeats in the song then at about 0:35 the main part of the song that is different from the chorus starts. Then at about 1:31 Juice WRLD’s feature starts. Then at 2:06 the chorus repeats and then the song ends. I also give this song an A+.

3. Blinding Lights- The Weeknd

Okay, so right off the bat I’m just going to tell you that this is not the type of music I usually listen to, but I do really like this song. It starts with a blank noise and then at around 0:10, the groovy beat and melody starts and keeps going throughout the song.

Then, The Weeknd’s voice comes in with an intro, and then the chorus, the chorus repeats multiple times throughout the song. At 1:34 the song turns pretty different from the voice, tempo, and lyrics. Then the song slowly fades into just the beat and then ends with a small singing performance. I personally give this song a B+; it would be an A, but it’s a little bit repetitive and lacks a little difference (but that’s just knit-picking). Overall, I like this song.

4. Rockstar- Dababy ft. Roddy Rich

This song starts off with a guitar line that stays throughout the whole song and then Dababy’s voice comes in with the beat. He starts the chorus and then after that he has a different bit. Then at about 1:47 Roddy Rich comes in and starts his verse. Then Dababy finishes the song with a chorus and then the song fades away with a slightly slower guitar line. Overall I give this song an A because I like the rhythm and flow of their voices and I just love the beat and guitar.

5. Dynamite- BTS

This song starts with a voice right way and a subtle beat then heightens really quickly with the full beat and a lot of voices in harmony, this harmony goes a while until everybody in the band starts doing different short vocal solos. Personally, I would give this song a D but that’s just because it really isn’t my style, but I know a lot of people who would probably love this song so for that purpose I give it a B-.

6. What’s Poppin’ (Remix)-Jack Harlow ft. Dababy, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne

This song starts with a repetitive (throughout the song) piano line and Jack Harlow starts with a rap and then it goes into the chorus. At about 0:53, Dababy comes in with a rap, and then Jack Harlow comes back in with the chorus. And then at 1:39 Tory Lanez comes in with a rap, then Jack Harlow comes back with the chorus. Then at 2:39, Lil Wayne comes in with the last rap then Jack comes back with the chorus and the song ends after that. I personally give this an A because I love the piano and the beat and the variety in all the different vocals.

7. Savage Love (Laxed- Siren Beat)- Jason Derulo and Jawsh685

This song starts with a groovy siren beat and then Jason Derulo starts singing a verse and then a chorus this pattern continues, a verse and then the chorus. The song ends with the chorus and the sound fades away fairly quickly. Personally I don’t like this song, But one again just like “Dynamite,” I know a lot of people who would love it so overall I give it a C+.

8. Mood- 24kgoldn and Iann Dior

This song starts with a somewhat distorted guitar line that stays through the whole song, then the beat and 24kgoldn’s voice comes in with the chorus. Then Iann Dior comes in with one of his verses. Then the chorus comes back in, then 24kgoldn starts singing a unique verse with a more broken down voice. Then Iann Dior sings a small bit and it turns back to the chorus and the song ends. Overall I give this an A because I love the distorted guitar line and their parts in the song come in at the right times.

9. For The Night- Pop Smoke ft Lil Baby and Dababy

This song starts with a bunch of cool melodies, then the beat comes into play and pop smoke starts singing. He sings a little intro and then introduces the chorus. Then at 1:23 Lil Baby starts his verse, (I really like his flow in that verse). Then the chorus comes back and then at 2:10 Dababy starts his verse, then after that, the chorus comes back and the song slowly fades away with only the beat and melody. I give this song an A.

10. Lemonade- Internet Money ft. Gunna, Don Toliver, and Nav

This song starts with a guitar and a beat, then the chorus starts. Then there is a verse, then the chorus is back and another verse starts, this structure continues through the rest of the song. Then the song fades away with an old TV-like sound and a low pitch synthesizer. I rate this song an A-.
