Students rank Netflix shows and series

Students share their favorite show and movies to watch on Netflix. With the stress of the pandemic, students and teachers stream their favorite show and movies in their downtime, to relieve tension in their daily lives.

With COVID-19 restrictions in place, people need to find ways to ease the stress in their daily lives, to relieve the tension by taking a well-deserved break. Students spend their downtime in many different ways. One popular alternative for many teens would be streaming their favorite movies and television shows on their devices. Netflix is a American subscription based streaming service that allows its users to watch TV shows and movies without commercials. So, where to start? With access to 3,781 movies, which are the most popular? Students give a response to their favorite shows and movies.

When asked, Sophomore Christopher Cicero says, “My favorite shows are Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Criminal Minds, Cobra Kai. My favorite movies are “After” and “After we collided”, but I like anything with horror.”

Sophomore Ashley Scott says, “The shows I watch on Netflix are Criminal Minds, Jane the Virgin, and Riverdale. My favorite show is Criminal Minds, and my favorite movie is 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler.”

Sophomore Mitavia Sessions shares her favorite shows to relax to.

“I mostly watch animated shows and movies. If it’s live action,  I watch ones based on, fantasy or fictional stories in general. I don’t usually watch romance or slice of life, but I do like horror and adventure. I mostly like zombie or vampire movies. Maybe if something becomes popular I’ll catch wind and watch for myself. My favorite shows are Seven Deadly Sins, Devilman Crybaby, and Beast Stars.”

Mrs. Ali Hobbs emphasizes the importance of quality time during the pandemic.

Mrs. Ali Hobbs says, “I do watch Netflix. I like the NCIS series of shows, so when I have time to relax, I usually watch those. Over the pandemic shut down, my daughter and I loved watching Schitt’s Creek. We agreed we could both watch it over and over! I also watched The Crown. I don’t watch a lot of tv, but when I do, I usually watch through Netflix.”
