1. What event got you to States?
The event that got me to states was the 300 hurdles.
2. What advice would you give to someone trying to go to States?
The advice I’d give someone trying to go to States is to put your best effort into practices and meets while also setting goals for yourself. The only way you’re going to improve is by working at things as often as possible.
3. What did you place at States and out of how many people?
I got 19th place out of 32 athletes. This is also 19th place in the state of Pennsylvania.
4. What’s your goal for next year’s track season?
My goal for next year’s track season is to get to States again for the 300 hurdles and hopefully the 100 hurdles. I’d also like to see my teammates make it as well so the experience can be shared with my peers.
5. What did you think of your send off from the whole school?
I thought the send off was very nice of the school to arrange. It was a little out of my comfort zone but seeing all my coaches and teammates be excited for me made me a lot more confident going into the meet. It felt really awesome to get recognition for the work I put in.
6. How did you feel going to States?
I definitely felt nervous going into States but when I actually got there I was super relaxed compared to how I felt at Leagues and Districts. Just the experience of the meet was enough to satisfy me.
7. Did the support from the school and your peers/coaches help you?
The support from everyone definitely helped me. Some of my teammates vs,e to cheer me on which was super helpful since it made me less nervous.
8. Do you think you’ll break more school records in the future?
I think I can continue breaking the record I set this year in the 300 hurdles. I’d love to see myself break the 100 hurdles record but it’s going to be much more of a challenging task.
