Read Across America Week is the week of March 2 to March 8, 2025 of celebrating reading and literacy across the world. PAHS Celebrates it by reading to the children and JSC. Students will read a selection of books to grades K-4 for the whole week during specific times of the day.
The selections of books range from Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems to Fox in the Socks by Dr Seuss. Read Across America Week is a week to bond with readers who may not understand the full joy of reading.
“Reading across America at JSC was new to me but I’ve always liked spending time with children and loved reading more. I also loved that all the students were asking questions and kept an open mind not just about the books but about their futures in high school,” Junior Tia Neufville said.
“For me, Reading Across America Week was a really fun experience. Seeing the kids so amazed that a high schooler was reading to them was super rewarding, and it made the whole thing worth it,” Junior Kharizma Harris said.
