January of the new year is the month for high school seniors to get ahead of their scholarship applications. Since many scholarships are due around March and April it is a good idea to get a head start on them now. Many scholarships have requirements a student must meet. For example, having a letter of recommendation, or a printed-out copy of a student’s transcript.
There are many ways a student can apply for scholarships. The Schuylkill Area Community Foundation is only one option. The guidance office came out with a booklet of scholarships seniors could apply for. On top of that, the Common App website matches scholarships for you and you can apply through their website.
“I found it very accessible to be able to apply for scholarships using the Schuykill Area Community Foundation. All I had to do was input my information and reply to some prompts and it was submitted successfully,” Senior Lauren Goodman said.
