After a long season PAHS football has come to an end. Following two years of struggle the Tide brought in almost an entire new coaching staff. Coach Mike Brennan was the one tasked with this big job. In his first season as head coach he took the Tide to the second round of the district playoffs. The team suffered a devastating loss to Southern Lehigh. Throughout the game the Tide held a 21 point lead at one point and a 14 point lead heading into the half.
Even though the season didn’t end the way they wanted it to end, they still have a lot to look forward to. Junior and leading rusher, Juju Bainbridge, is a star to look forward to. After a year of losing the team’s star, Parrish McFarland, the team needed someone to step up and take that role. Not only did Bainbridge step in those shoes, he exceeded everybody’s expectations. He is just one of the many stars that Pottsville has to look forward to.
Senior Brayden Evans says, “ While I’m upset that the season ended I’m happy to see how far myself and this program have come. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Pottsville football.” Evans continues by saying,”I’ve grown over the years as a player and a person, and this team had a major role in that.”
Although the season ended abruptly, the future for Pottsville football looks bright. While we can’t see exactly what will happen until next year, we appreciate all the seniors that put in time and effort for years.
