Every year PAHS has a Homecoming/Alumni night football game. Our school used to have a dance after every game about twenty years ago but that ended, and we haven’t had a Homecoming Dance since. Students have been begging for a homecoming dance for years on end and it was just too inconvenient to happen. Thanks to Mini Thon members, this year students will finally have the Homecoming Dance they so badly wanted.
Organizers Lizzy Martinko and Julie Szeliga spent a lot of time working on this project. They continued to make it a work in progress by listening to student ideas and getting everything approved by Mini Thon organizer/teacher Mrs. Diehl and Mrs. Hummel.
“Organizing our first-ever homecoming dance has been such an experience and I’m so glad to have Julie by my side through the whole process. We have been working hard to make sure we plan for a fun night, while also raising money to fight pediatric cancer,” Senior Lizzy Martinko said.
The dance is for all the students who have been waiting for a Homecoming dance but also an event to raise money to fight cancer in children. It’s a great way to both have fun and raise awareness for those children.
