Each year, students choose what classes to take for the next year. They have the freedom to create their own schedule, but the student must make sure the classes that are taken meet the graduation requirements. Pottsville offers a diverse amount of classes to get all of the 21 credits required to graduate. Everybody has different interests and that ‘s why it’s best to take the time to choose carefully and wisely. Schedules for the 2024-2025 school year were due yesterday, Thursday, February 15th at 11:59 p.m.
Once you’ve figured out what classes you want to take all you have to do is write them on the paper you were given by guidance, get a parent or guardian to sign it and then hand it in. But, you also must login to skyward and choose everything all over again, and then you should be set.
You must be sure to have alternates because classes do fill up quickly and sometimes a class just can’t fit in your schedule. Sometimes your whole schedule will have to be moved around, but our guidance office will do it.
“Making my senior schedule is both sad and exciting because it’s my last year but it’s also the beginning of my future,” said Elena Holden “It feels like I was just in eighth grade making my freshman schedule and now I’m making my senior year one.”
Each class besides seniors had a class meeting about scheduling to discuss the process, the classes that are now available for those who are going to be juniors and seniors especially seniors. As well as discussed with the upcoming seniors about the 2 required classes, being economics and American government. They also talked to the upcoming seniors about making sure they schedule the classes they need to meet the graduation requirements.
