Pottsville Area High School is trying something new with their Drama Club. For the 2023-2024 school year, instead of just doing a spring show, the drama club will be doing both a fall and spring show. The spring show has yet to be revealed but for the fall it will be Six the Musical.
Six the Musical is a comedy that retells the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII. The people who made the musical were Toby Marlow and Lucy Ross, who made a history lesson turn into a pop rock show with a twist. The queens are all competing against each other to be the new leader of the group.
PAHS’s Drama Club has done one spring show and it doesn’t get announced until early October. This year, the club wants to change things up with a very special fall show with a chance for anyone to audition. The show will have to be a “teen edition” due to very mature themes used.
“This show is going to be so good! Everyone at auditions put out so much talent and the whole group are such great people,” senior Sarah Malek says. “Even though we just started rehearsing we already have so many things planned. I’m really excited to be working with everyone to create this entertaining and thrilling show.”
