AID donates Thanksgiving baskets
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks to those who may not be as fortunate as others and that is what PAHS students did before break. Clubs in the high school collected canned goods and non-perishable items to donate to those in need. With the many diverse clubs, they were able to collect an unprecedented amount of goods.
AID club member, Kenzie Androshick said, “It felt very good to be able to help out in such a difficult time, especially with all that everyone has happened with over the past few months. It’s always good to give back to the community and put a smile on a person’s face.”
All club members had to donate at least one item which would then go into that club’s basket/s. Items such as boxed stuffing, corn, beans, etc. This meant that there were many different items that were donated to someone in need.
“It feels so good to donate and give back to the community especially in such a time like this. There are families who need help now more than ever, so being able to help contribute to such a good cause is a great feeling,”said Mini-Thon member sophomore, Chloe Heintz.
Drama Club member Maddie Eroh said, “In these unprecedented times, I think now more than ever it’s very important to help people and give back to the community. I felt very pleased with myself that I could contribute to making these baskets. The baskets were a great idea to give back to our community so that everyone can have a nice holiday with their families. The drama club collected roughly 30 items for our Thanksgiving basket, and we plan to make another one for Christmas.”
The Thanksgiving baskets were a new idea which was suggested by the students and club members. It is a new way to give back without coming in close contact with anyone else
