As well as seeing the art works of students across the schools, JSC, DHHL Middle School, and PAHS, you could also buy refreshments, listen to music, and gamble at a chance to win something at the Chinese Auction. Although the art is the main focus of the event, there is more to do than see the art.
Every year, the art students in the high school spend their time working on their paintings, ceramics, or digital arts. At PAHS many art classes are introduced so students have a variety of things to choose from, after completing the prerequisite of Introduction to Art. For some creative classes like Video Production or Photoshop classes taken with Mr. Stephen Horvath you don’t have to meet that requirement and your work is showcased too.
The music at the art show is played live by Pottville’s stage band. The band plays the whole time with a break in the middle to give students a chance to view their peers’ artwork. The band plays selections all the way from years before to what they play for their concert. They played “Misty,” “In the Stone,” “Tank,” and more.
“Even though I couldn’t be at the art show this year, I love playing for it. It’s a nice way to combine two different art forms to create a great atmosphere for anybody there to watch, look, and listen,” Junior Evrett Walters said.
