Varsity basketball rolls into states
The Pottsville Boys’ Varsity Basketball team is having an outstanding season this year. In the regular season, their record was 14-0 under Coach David Mullaney. The Pottsville boys star point guard, Mason Barnes is also having an amazing season, he reached his career 1000th point this year.
The Pottsville Boys made it all the way to Schuylkill League Championship where they won against Tamaqua area, 58-46. Since they won Schuylkill Leagues, they went to districts. In districts semi-finals, they won against Bangor, 58-41. Then they went to district championships, where they lost to Southern Lehigh, 61-48. Even though they lost in districts they still made it to states because of their undefeated regular-season record. Then, Pottsville went on to play Northern York, where they won 61-43. Since Pottsville won, they go to the next level in districts. They play the West Chester East Basketball Team on March 10.
Go and support the Crimson Tide on March 10th!! Some students here at D.H.H. Lengel like to go to the games and this is why.
6th grader, Mya McGeoy said, “I like to go to the game to support my dad, who is an assistant coach, and to hang out with her friends.”
7th grader Lainey Dusel said, “I like to go to the games to support the team.”
