Girls’ basketball improves daily
The 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball team has played 11 games so far this season. The 8th grade record is 5 wins and 6 losses so far. The 7th grade record is 9 wins and 2 losses. Their most recent game, they played Jim Thorpe. Their next game is tomorrow (Tuesday, October 16) at 4:00 p.m. against Minersville, but it is at Minersville. They are hoping to win, but if not, that’s okay, because it’s all about having fun. Their next home game is Wednesday, October 17 at 4:00 p.m. in Martz Hall against Pine Grove.
Maya Golden is an 8th grade member of the basketball team. She played on the team last year as a 7th grader as well. Maya plays point guard and wing. When they played against Jim Thorpe, Maya scored 7 points. She hopes she can score the same or better during the next game, too. Another sport Maya plays is soccer, but she likes basketball better.
I hope you liked learning some information about the 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball team and 8th grader Maya Golden. Hopefully, you can catch their next game at Martz Hall.
