A student pulls out her phone in class during school to check her Snapchat for updates. Students all across the world have been using this eight-year-old app that has made a name for itself as one of the most popular social media platforms to ever come out. “I would say that our generation is addicted to Snapchat. It has become a regular part of the common teen’s day. Not only to message people, but to do streaks and add to their stories,” senior Preston Hunter said.

Two students walk down the hallway at PAHS while wearing their hoodies with their hoods up. The Pottsville Area School District has had a strict ‘no hoodie policy’ since May 13 of 2009, and now has taken a next step to confiscate any hoodies worn during the school day. “I’m not a big fan of the hoodie policy, but if a teacher would say to take it off, I do. But if it’s very cold, I usually go through the day with the hoodie,” sophomore Justice Lewis said.

Freshman Tayla Jones has been playing both basketball and softball since elementary school. In addition to participating in these two sports during her freshman year at PAHS, Jones is also an extra-curricular member of the Publications team. Participating in sports and clubs helps me stay active and involved, and helps me focus on positive things, Jones said.
