The Pottsville swimming season has begun at PAHS. The teams first meet was Thursday Dec. 7th against Saucon Valley. The boys team won by a score of 104-52, and the girls lost by a score of 100-51.
The boys team was headlined by wins by Caden Wright who won the 500 and the 200, Noah Bevan who took first in the hundred butterfly, and Killian Bressler who won the 50 freestyle. The boys also won all of the relays.
Hunter Chescavge said “I’m very proud of our team’s first meet but we have a long way to go with our season. “It is hard to not look forward to the league and district playoffs.”
The girls team was headlined by Lizzy Martinko and Adalia La Selva who both won their individual events.
Emma Seiger said “I hope our team can turn it around. We had a rough first meet but we hope to turn it around as a team.”
The team’s next meet is Wednesday, December 20 against Whitehall. The team hopes to come out on top but it surely will not be easy.
