DISCOVER - While looking at different stories on Tide Lines Online, sophomore Kenneth Glore reads a story about the middle school band concert on the new Lengel Lingo tab. Students at the D.H.H. Lengel Middle School write stories and conduct interviews for the middle school publication, Lengel Lingo, that are then published on Tide Lines Online. “I really enjoy being able to read younger students’ work. I believe it helps them learn and gives them good experience in the field of journalism. It’s enjoyable to see aspiring journalists as well, and [this experience] may lead them to job opportunities in the future,” Glore said.

LAUNCH - At the start of the boys’ 400 free relay, senior Josh Zelinsky, middle, dives into the pool. The relay team of Zelinsky, juniors Zach Turnitza and Jordan Young and freshman Zaidian Vanorden set the record with a time of 3:28.8 at the Schuylkill Sprint meet held January 6 at the Ned Hampford Natatorium. “We are using setting the record to drive us to win districts. We all have been working very hard to get this,” Zelinsky said. “These accomplishments aren’t just for us - they’re for Coach Ned Hampford as well. He is the real motivation for our success.”

LEAP — During the final dress rehearsal before the performances, sophomore Rachael Lenker does a Firebird as part of her role as the sugar plum fairy in The Nutcracker. “The role of the sugar plum fairy was a great honor. I was very excited and grateful for the opportunity,” Lenker said. “The hardest part about preparing for the show wasn’t only remembering the choreography, but performing with proper technique and entertaining stage presence. I love every part of the show, but if I had to pick a favorite part, it would be the ending scene when everyone comes out to bow. That moment is so magical and is what I look forward to every show.”
