The Pottsville wrestling team had their first match on Wednesday, December 6. The team this year is headlined by returning starters Nick Kunstek, Parrish McFarland, and Terrell McFarland.
The team ended up winning their first match which was against Williams Valley. The team won by a score of 51-21. The only people on the team to lose their matches on Wednesday were Steven Karinch, Edward Martinez, and Drew Seman.
“I feel confident the team can win all of our matches this year,” said Brayden Evans, “I know it’s the first match but I’m already looking forward to leagues and districts.”
Last season the team lost just one match while in district playoffs. The team hopes to continue this winning culture by having yet another winning season.
