In March, students in fifth through eighth grades learned about why they shouldn’t start vaping or smoking when DHH Lengel Middle School partnered with Geisinger St. Luke’s as part of Vaping Prevention Awareness Month activities.
Pennsylvania Youth Tobacco Resistance Unit also visited with students during their lunch periods and shared photo displays and facts to help educate students about the dangers of vaping and smoking.
Vaping and smoking can cause health issues ranging from passing out, memory loss, and addiction to developing lung disease and even some types of cancer.
During the Vape Prevention Awareness Tour event, students also had the opportunity to take surveys and quizzes to win free pencils and T-shirts from the Schuylkill County Drug and Alcohol table.
