Elements of Madeline Kohutka’s art
Although she is planning to continue her artistic career as a hobby after high school, senior Madeline Kohutka still finds a way to incorporate art into her daily life. As a current AP Studio Art student, Kohutka has some advice for those that will be taking that class in the future. “To prospective AP [Studio] Art students, it’s a lot of work, but it’s well worth it. You really push yourself and produce great things,” Kohutka said.
Q: How many art classes did you take in total at Pottsville?
A: I took 10 in total. I took Foundations of Art, Drawing, Advanced Drawing, Painting 1, 2, 3, Ceramics 1, 2, 3D Design, and AP Art.
Q: Will you major in art in college?
A: No, I plan to major in mathematics at Cedar Crest College. I’ll definitely continue art as a hobby. I’ve even considered having a small side business for portraits (my favorite).
Q: Who inspired you to do art?
A: Both of my parents were talented with art, so they inspired me. I loved all of my art classes in elementary and middle school, so high school was awesome because I could take so many art classes.
