Dominic Alvarez gave candy to a kid wearing an Ash costume from Pokémon. “It was a great experience to hand out candy for kids for my team and I enjoyed seeing all of the kids in costumes.”

Trunk or Treat is a Pottsville Area School District tradition, where middle and elementary schoolers will come out and get candy. On Monday,October 23rd, many of the high school students will participate to give out candy to the younger ones. Trunk or treat is solely for kids to trick or treat out of car trunks. It is a fun way to trick or treat without having to walk or go far. All you have to do is walk in a square to go to each trunk in the parking lot.

Clubs or sports dress up; they have their very own theme and trunk. The students and teachers are in charge of bringing candy. The themes were very cool this year. Cross country had an “80’s Workout” theme, the cheerleaders did “Alice in Wonderland,” and the Drama Club were pirates. Everybody goes above and beyond every year.

“My favorite part about the trunk or treat is dressing up and seeing how the kids and all of the other trunks decorated,” said Junior Connor McGowan. “My favorite had to be the cheerleaders because they put their all into the Alice in Wonderland theme. I think it’s awesome that our clubs and sports can give a little bit of happiness to a kid just by giving them candy.”
