Teacher Tales: Mrs. Clemson

Q: Have you ever wished of being something other than a teacher? Why?
A: I have many family members in in the field of education.  From a very young age, I looked up to these people and knew that teaching would be my passion. I had many other potential career interests, but deep down I always knew this is what I was destined to do.

Q: Do you like teaching 6th grade ELA? Would you change that and why?
A: After teaching 4th grade in the district for 12 years, I was ready for a change. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach 6th grade here. I feel I have found my niche in this position.

Q: Have you ever worked in a school other than Pottsville?
A: I taught at All Saints Catholic School (now Assumption BVM) in Pottsville for 6 years before coming to PASD.

Q: What extracurricular activities do you enjoy? Why?
A: Being a mother of 3 young children, my interests often do not take priority. When I do find a few minutes for myself, I like to read or just relax while watching a movie.

Q: If you could be in any era of time which would it be and why?
A: I always felt like I connected most with the 1950s. It seemed to be a time of change and advancements. People were positive and enthusiastic about their futures. It was a decade of James Dean, the Wizard of Oz, and shopping malls.

Q: If you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A: I love that I live in place that has 4 seasons. I do love summer, but I always look forward to the next change of season. I would like to be a little closer to the beach.

Q: What is your favorite sports team? Why?
A: I find myself often rooting for the Clemson Tigers, I guess you can figure out why. 🙂 I am not a huge fan of sports.
