With the ending of Districts this weekend, the PAHS swimming season has finally finished. Following a successful year, the Tide took on District Championships. The team totaled 5 medals in a meet where they were very close to medaling in several other events. The overall winner in the boys championships was Southern Lehigh, Blue Mountain, and then the Pottsville team. The girls team finished 6th place after Blue Mountain won the district.
The boys team started the day off right winning their first medal in the 200 medley relay. The team consisted of Noah Bevan, Marty Davis, John Mohl, and Killian Bressler. The team then had best times out of Jamison Walsh (200 IM), Caden Wright(200 free), and John Mohl (100 fly). The team then received medals in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relay.
The girls team also started their day with a medal in the 200 medley relay consisting of Gianna LaSelva, Lizzy Martinko, Adalia LaSelva, and Jillian Horvath. The team’s next medal came in the 100 fly by Adalia LaSelva. She got a silver medal for coming in second.
While the team had no state qualifiers, it doesn’t take away from their season. The season was a very successful one and we wish them luck next season.
