Big dreams
Poetry done by senior, Justice Nelson.
Big dreams
I’m wearing crop tops,
And jeans with frays in,
I let my hair down,
It blows in the wind.
Love on the west coast,
Live on the west coast.
I stand in Times Square,
I read them billboards,
To see what’s happening,
And that’s just New York.
Live on the west coast,
On the west coast with dreams.
The atmosphere is heavy,
And the noise is ablaze,
I like it on me,
It’s a familiar place.
I’m chasing something out there,
Even if I can’t see,
I’m chasing my big dreams.
I stay out late night,
I’m dancing freely,
Looking in color,
Like it’s the 70’s.
Love on the west coast,
Live on the west coast.
Bathing in sunshine,
I’m not with the flow,
City never sleeps,
So we just all go,
Live on the west coast,
On the west coast with dreams.
The lights are brighter than Hollywood star,
Buildings majestic and grand,
I know that I’ll make it far,
Nobody can tell me that I can’t.
I’m living in this type of scene,
And it makes me feel good,
These are my big dreams.
The crowd is whirling by but I won’t blend,
Want them to cheer for me when I make this work.
Gonna hear them chant when I’m the star.
“Go baby go, you did it this time, big dreams on the line.”
