Mengle’s Book Release at Pressed

Plays on words and tiny twists mean much in a poem. In “When The Soul Meats Itself,” his mesmerizing second collection of poems, author Timothy Mengle makes us wonder: “Isn’t it amazing where life can take you? It’s like drifting in a river stream, it takes you where it wants. Sometimes we set off with good intentions in one direction; but you end up in a different, but much better, situation.”

Barista Timothy Mengle explains the hardships of writing his second poetry novel to freshman Samantha Woodford. Mengle talked about his experiences with his success in the small town of Pottsville.

Timothy Mengle is a 30 year old poet, musician and barista at the local coffee shop “Pressed Coffee And Books.” During his book release at Pressed on Saturday 1, 2020 books were signed and sold. Tim also read some of his work including the poem, “Sanctuary Wine.”

Junior Jamilah Johnson said, “ I really enjoyed this event. It brought us together as a community as well as let us meet new people. I’m excited to see what other events Pressed will be holding.”
